Methods to remove water pump cavitation

If water pump is improperly installed or used, pump cavitation may occur. Once it happened, performance of the water pump will reduce, water yield will also reduce and impeller will damage with vibration and noise. Thus, we should avoid pump cavitation.

Then, what should we do?

1. Calculate geometric installation height after leave 0.3m of safety height of vacuum height of the rated condition.

2. After fixing the water pump, we should improve hg:

① Shorten the length of horizontal inlet pipe of water pump;

② Reduce pipe bending of inlet pipe;

③ Increase diameter of inlet water.

3. Improvement of the performance of pump’s cavitation resisting:

① Rationally design geometrical size of impeller entrance;

② Improve the structure of water pump;

③ Optimize the shape line of impeller cover plate;

④ Improve the anti-cavitation performance of impeller materials.
