Operation procedure of fire pump

I. Check and preparation before starting the pump

1. Remove clutter on the unit and clean up the scene. Check if foundation bolt is loose.

2. Check if the pump and bearing are lubricated and check if motor, electrical equipment and instrument are normal.

3. Check rotate direction of the motor: the pump rotates in a clockwise direction when see it from the top of the motor.

4. Open exhaust valve and make liquid fill the entire pump. After that, close the exhaust valve.

II. Starting

1. Switch on instruments and close the cock of pressure gauge.

2. Open inlet valve fully and close outlet pipe valve.

3. Connect to power supply. Open the cock of pressure gauge when the pump reaches normal speed and gradually open the sluice valve on outlet pipe and adjust it to the needed operating condition; in case of sluice valve of outlet pipe closed, continuous working time of pump shall be no more than 2 minutes.

III. Operation

1. Bearing temperature should be no more than 35℃ of environmental temperature and the highest temperature should be no more than 75℃; leakage rate of mechanical seal should be less than or equal to 5ml/h.

2. Notice if gauge reading, bearing temperature, mechanical seal leakage, temperature and vibration and noise of pump are normal. If there is any abnormal condition, repair it timely.

3. It is prohibited to operate the pump continuously under the condition of low 30% of design flow and high 120% of design flow.

IV. Stopping

1. Close cock of pressure gauge.

2. Close sluice valve of outlet pipe gradually.

3. Shut off the power.

4. Close the inlet valve.

5. If it stops to use for a long time, disassemble the pump, clean it and oil it. And then store it after packing.
