General trend of water pump industry development can be summarized as:
(1) Large capacity and high head. Increase of pump capacity will reduce the cost of equipment and construction to save energy.
(2)
High speed. In recent years, with the development of technology, rotate
speed of the pump is higher and higher. For the pump, increase of
rotate speed will improve the single-stage head of pump. Thus, when the
total head is the same, the series of the pump can be reduced and the
length of the pump can be shortened, which can also reduce the size and
weight and save raw materials and manufacturing costs.
(3)
High efficiency. The pump is general machinery product, power
consumption of which is objective. Thus, improving pump efficiency has
great significance to save energy.
(4)
High reliability. The requirement for reliability is higher and higher
for pump develops towards large capacity and high rotate speed
direction. Reliability of the pump should be guaranteed from the aspects
such as design, manufacturing, installation to operation.
(5)
Low noise. Noise pollution is harmful to people’s health. Currently,
most of countries have done a lot of researches on the mechanism of
noise control, noise detection technology and noise limit.
(6)
Automation. With the development and application of computer and
network technologies, the units above 300MW have fully realized computer
network monitoring and control of DCS. In DCS system, the pump is not
single-machine control, but network monitoring and control. The system
can realize online real-time monitoring and control of flow, pressure
and temperature and online automatic fault diagnosis, automatic chain
and protection.
